Another Atlantic City, Exxxotica show is in the books and all of us here at EastCoastTalent would like to thank everyone for coming out to support the industry and meet their favorite stars. We are gearing up for Exxxotica Ft. Lauderdale and finalizing our line up of talent. We will announce this soon, and hope to see the same great support in South Florida.
Atlantic City was a good show for us, met lots of great people and of course it is always good to catch up with others in the industry. The weekend wasn’t without a little controversy as the Fanny awards unfolded. Honestly we are not sure an award shows in the days of social media will ever be without controversy. The 24 hour news cycle and the immediacy a connected planet brings, people will always questions and voice their opinions and in more avenues and ways than ever before.
Two of our clients, Carter Cruise and Dakota Skye earned a, in our opinion, well deserved nomination into the “New Girl on the Block” category and after an immense amount of work rallying their fans and getting out the vote, sadly neither won. Of course both ladies took to social media to not only respond to their fans shock at not securing the win but making their voice heard. Rightly so, anyone who works hard toward winning should be allowed to congratulate in a win or lament in a loss.
We were of course, naturally disappointed, but the benefit of our years of experience not only in the industry but in life afford us the wisdom to see some times things don’t go the way they should. All of us at ECT are proud of not only Carter and Dakota but all of the EastCoastTalent family in representing themselves well. Youth and enthusiasm often overlook that hard work is its own reward, but hopefully the fan base they build and the good work they do in and for the industry will pay off for them in more tangible ways in the future.
